Dream vacation getaway at Namale Resort & Spa in Fiji

Hubby and I have always wanted to travel. We romanticize the idea of living abroad in several different countries for an indeterminate amount of time. And it doesn't help that we know plenty of friends and relatives who have done so. But for now, having young children, limited financial resources, and - let's be honest - a slight fear of the unknown, have kept us firmly wedged in the corner of our familiar urban neighborhood in this old house.

Perhaps our most often-given reply to the "if you could live anywhere in the world..." question is Australia. Sure, moving literally halfway around the globe would be an enormous endeavor. I can see my mother-in-law's hair turning gray just reading this post. But as Hubby always says, "Australia is the Texas of Europe" - so it can't be that foreign, right? And the thing is, once we were there, we could travel to other foreign locales for the same cost as our road trip to Oklahoma City two spring breaks ago. (For non-DFW residents, that consisted of a 3-hour drive and a $40-per-night hotel)

Australia itself has a diverse geography, roughly a mirror-image of the US. Then there's New Zealand, Tasmania, and a whole slew of islands, including Fiji. In the course of my imaginary travel planning, I was contacted by a representative for an exotic resort in Fiji.

Namale Resort & Spa is the perfect getaway place. It's the kind of place you see on tv (You did see Namale on tv if you watch The Bachelorette) and wonder if it really exists. Namale boasts an all-inclusive stay on a tropical island on the cliff side of a volcano. Right now they are offering a Valentine's Day special through February 28th.

The Romance Package includes seven nights for the price of five, plus the following amenities:
  • All Meals - Full service breakfasts, 3-course lunches and 5-course dinners and snack in between each meal
  • All beverages including beer, liquor, red and white wines and champagne
  • Round trip transfers to and from Savusavu Airport
  • Fully stocked and daily replenished mini-bar
  • Daily laundry service
  • Complimentary access to the Namale Fitness Centre, Kava Bowl (Indoor Entertainment Centre) & Hydrotherapy Room at the Namale Spa & Sanctuary
  • Complimentary activities include freshwater pools, snorkeling, kayaking, horseback riding, golfing, volleyball, bowling, virtual golf, waterfall hikes, movie theatre and more!

Isn't that incredible? I'm definitely adding it to my one-of-these-days list. If you are able to take advantage of it now, be sure to let them know I sent you. Use promo code OMDD Namale when you call to book your stay and receive a complimentary 20-minute foot massage, which includes soaking in warm coconut milk, a sugar scrub on the foot/calf, and then a reflexology and hot stone massage on the foot/calf, upon arrival. Just promise to send me a postcard.
